Do I need to know my columns before I start?

For a spreadsheet extraction, yes — the columns are what KAI is asked to find. You can describe what you want in a sentence and have the columns proposed for you. For documents that are not tables at all, like a contract, KAI reads the page as text instead and there are no columns.

What happens to the document I upload in the demo?

The file and everything read from it are deleted within 2 hours, automatically. The demo has no export, and nothing from it is carried into an account.

Can it read handwriting?

Often, yes — handwritten receipts are a case this was built for. It is also the case where checking the quotes matters most, which is why they are always there.

What if a photo is too blurred or too small?

KAI tells you before spending anything, and says what to change — that the shorter side needs more pixels, for instance, so you can photograph it again from closer in. A document that is turned away is not charged for.

Can several people use one workspace?

Yes. Invite colleagues by email address and give them a role — viewer, editor, admin or owner. How many people a workspace holds is part of the plan: a free trial holds 1 person, and each plan says on its card how many it holds. If a plan ends, colleagues lose access until it is renewed — nobody is ever removed, and renewing brings everyone back at the role they had.

How do I pay?

In Kwacha, by mobile money or by card, through Lenco. Plans are prepaid and monthly: KAI stores no card and nothing renews itself, so a plan runs for 30 days and then simply stops until you choose to pay again. Paying before it ends adds to what is left rather than replacing it. A plan buys the pages, the people and the download for the month it runs, so unused pages are not carried into the next month and export stops until you renew. Everything you have already extracted stays yours and stays readable throughout — renewing switches the rest back on.

Do I have to pay to try it?

No. The demo on the home page needs no account at all, and every new workspace starts with 50 free pages. A trial is the real product on your own documents, with three limits worth knowing: it cannot export — sending a sheet to Excel or CSV, or a document to Markdown or plain text, needs a plan that is running — it holds 1 person, and it runs 1 extraction at a time. What you extract stays readable whether or not a plan is running.
